IDEA MATH offers a summer math workshop for students entering 7th to 12th grade who wish to expand their mathematics horizons and sharpen their problem solving skills. It is designed to help able students develop systematic methods for problem-solving and build a solid foundation for their future mathematics study. During the our summer program, we will arrange for visits to area colleges such as Harvard University, MIT, Tufts, etc and independent schools such as Phillips Exeter Academy, Phillips Academy etc. We will also provide a program for a college tour (extra charge will apply) after the our summer programs to Yale University, Columbia University and Princeton University. In 2010, the college tour will on Aug. 1st and Aug. 2nd. Location: Greater Boston Area: Merrimack College, 315 Turnpike Street, North Andover, MA Date: July 18 - Aug. 1, 2010 Who: Students entering grades 7 to 12 in school year 2010-2011 Why? We apply seminar-style teaching in our classes. we believe students learn best by discovering, rather than simply memorizing, essential theorems and techniques. Our process puts students at the center of the classes, as students work together to develop their ideas. Our instructors lead this processes by teaching vital ideas and giving meaningful examples, then guiding students through the problem-solving process.
